About Dollars World

Every dollar question, answered with a calculator.

Most money questions have a precise answer hiding behind a formula: what a salary is per hour, how long a debt will take, what a dollar from 1985 buys today. Dollars World turns those formulas into 17 fast, free calculators, built on official data and explained in plain English.

What we believe

• Show the working. Every calculator explains its formula, walks through an example and lists its sources.
• Your numbers are yours. Calculations run in your browser. We don't ask you to sign up to see a result.
• Plain English beats jargon. If a term needs explaining, we explain it.
• We don't give personal advice. We help you understand the numbers so you can make your own decisions, or have a better conversation with a professional.

Who runs it

Dollars World is run by Dollars World. Each calculator is reviewed by The Dollars World team before it goes live and again when its data or the rules behind it change. Read our editorial policy for how that works.

How we make money

The calculators are free. We plan to earn from advertising, from clearly labelled partner offers (for example a savings account shown under the savings calculator), and from the Money Toolkit spreadsheets. Partner offers never change a calculator's results. See our disclosures.
